Project Overview
This project, completed in the summer of 2016, will bring fresh water to 1200 people. Before the project these people lived at a high elevation, and the city water pipeline did not have enough pressure to reach this height, so these community members either spent time traveling down hill to gather water, or spent money for water from a water truck.
This project will install a pump, automatic electronic control for the pump, storage for one day of water for the current population, and a backbone network of pipes for this community.
I served as a technical lead for this project, and now I am a Student Mentor. I know how to design and build both the structures and hydraulics of the project, and I have contributed many calculations and AutoCAD drawings to the project.
